Run For Fun
As a precursor to the Military World Games scheduled to be held in Hyderabad from Oct 14 to Oct 21, A "Run For Fun" was organised in the host city of Hyderabad. Bravo the Bison which is the mascot of the games was unveiled in a dramatic style at the end of the Run.

Some 7000 people from the various military, paramilitary establishments, schools and Citizens of Hyderabad took part in the race to lend support to the cause of the games. The run was flagged off by Lt. Gen. Ashok Kapur, Chief of Staff of the Indian Army's Southern Command.

The run started from L.B Stadium and followed the Tank bund on Hussain Sagar Lake and finally finsihed at the Parade Grounds. The Tank bund was decked up with colourful flags and as the runners reached the Hussain Sagar, a flotilla of boats carrying the Military World Games message greeted the runners.

At parade ground Bravo the mascot made a dramatic entry from the Sky.Led by Wg Cdr MIK Reddy , a team of parachutists enthralled the audience with a spectatcuar display of parachuting.

The Mascot was unveiled by the Home Minister of Andhra Pradesh, K Jana Reddy who also promised complete support to the armed forces from the State Government for the conduct of the event.He also said Hyderabad would become the global sports destination with the conduct of the games.

A cultural extrvaganza was organised which had Bharatnatyam and the crowd cheered to the Music from the new local teen music sensation Tina.
